Monday Photograph #36

Happy New Year 2019!

The week that was ended with the wonderfully muddy affair that is the Huncote Hash! There was fancy dress, slippery slopes, cold brooks and hot soup (the best tasting soup is served after the Hash, a bit like the world’s best cobs are served after Ashby 20), but above all a wonderfully friendly and relaxed atmosphere!

And even though I was not on the best of days, I enjoyed the racing: I had forgotten how the uneven pace of cross-country means that there is more back and forth than a road race, as each of us runs differently on different surfaces and inclines.

(Santa) hat off to Mark Larratt for resisting my attack on the final sprint, and commiserations to Simon Morgan who lost his shoe (and a couple of places) with a few yards to go for the finish!

But above all congratulations to the amazing organising committee and volunteers who ensured another very smooth running of this very popular event!

Yum!
